Postpartum Support
Supporting Mothers After Birth — Physically, Emotionally, and Mentally
At Almond Blossoms Fertility & Wellbeing Centre in Dubai, we believe that care shouldn’t stop at childbirth.
The postpartum period — also called the “fourth trimester” is a time of major physical recovery, emotional adjustment, and new beginnings.
While it brings moments of joy and connection, it can also come with exhaustion, anxiety, mood changes, and feelings of isolation.
Our Postpartum Support Program is designed to help new mothers navigate this delicate stage with professional guidance, compassion, and complete care supporting a positive start for both mother and baby.
Understanding the Postpartum Period
The postpartum period begins immediately after childbirth and lasts up to a year.
During this time, a woman’s body, hormones, and emotions undergo profound changes as she adjusts to motherhood, breastfeeding, and a new identity.
At Almond Blossoms, our specialists in psychiatry, psychology, and women’s health work together to support both the physical recovery and mental wellbeing of new mothers.
Common Postpartum Challenges
Every woman’s care is unique, but some of the most common postpartum issues include:
Postpartum Blues
Mild mood swings, irritability, and tearfulness within the first 1–2 weeks after delivery.
Postpartum Depression
Persistent sadness, guilt, hopelessness, or difficulty bonding with the baby.
Postpartum Anxiety
Constant worry, restlessness, panic attacks, or intrusive thoughts.
Postpartum Psychosis (rare)
Severe confusion, hallucinations, or delusions a medical emergency requiring immediate attention.
Physical Fatigue & Sleep Deprivation
Chronic exhaustion that can worsen mood and hormone balance.
Relationship Strain
Emotional distance or misunderstanding between partners during adjustment.
Recognizing these signs early allows for timely, effective intervention and faster recovery.
