Dr Ewa Goncikowska is a Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility and an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience in fertility medicine. Her professional background brings together clinical reproductive medicine, molecular biology and reproductive genetics.

Her path into reproductive medicine began with science. Before studying medicine, Dr Ewa completed an MSc in Molecular Biology, developing an early interest in human reproduction and genetics. This later became the focus of her doctoral research at the Medical University of Białystok, where she investigated chromosomal structural abnormalities and their relationship with gamete and embryo quality in patients undergoing IVF — work closely linked to preimplantation genetic diagnosis, now known as PGT-SR. She was awarded a PhD in Medical Sciences in 2008.

Professional Journey

Dr Ewa has worked in reproductive medicine since 2004. She began her fertility career in Białystok, Poland, as part of Professor Marian Szamatowicz’s team — the pioneering group in the development of IVF in Poland.

She later co-founded FertiMedica Fertility Centre in Warsaw, where she served as Medical Director, combining clinical fertility practice with responsibility for the development and delivery of reproductive medicine services.

Her career subsequently took her to London, where she practiced alongside internationally recognised fertility specialists and cared for patients from many different countries and backgrounds. She later moved to Dubai, bringing more than two decades of experience in reproductive medicine to her clinical practice in the UAE.

Across these different healthcare systems and clinical settings, her approach has remained centred on evidence-based, individualised treatment and careful clinical decision-making, particularly in complex cases and after previous unsuccessful treatment.
